The Story Behind
Woltermann Import

My name is Andreas Woltermann, and I am the founder of Woltermann Import UG.

The company is currently being built up as a side business. Due to the Corona pandemic, I, like many others, was on reduced hours. During this time, I was in contact with a good friend who travels to China frequently for business.

When he told me that he often encountered baijiu at meals or in social gatherings, my interest was piqued. Fortunately, an acquaintance was able to bring me a sample. When I tasted the baijiu, I was so immediately impressed by the flavor that I wanted to learn more. Unfortunately, my research yielded little information. 

On a whim, I decided to contact the producer directly and learned that their baijiu wasn’t currently being exported. That’s how my “crazy idea” was born.

After developing my concept, I shared it with the owner. He was impressed, and I received permission to export their baijiu and then distribute it within the EU. Together with some good friends from the EU, I’d like to introduce you to baijiu.
